About This Game

Goodbye, and thanks for all the cheese.

Your rocket is your freedom. You race across space, drifting through newtonian laws of motion. Gravity tugs at you but your engine roars in defiance. The planets feel close by and you have a pile of cheese to unload.

• Navigate newtonian physics using simple controls
• Learn to control your momentum and make daring maneuvers (to pick up cheese)
• Master gravity by using your booster fuel at the right time

Silly and inquisitive

Gravity Break is a space adventure aimed at kids and young adults. The core of the game is an easily accessible physics simulation of space travel, inspired by Newton’s laws but in a faster time-scale so it won’t take days to visit the moon. The game’s systems play with rocket physics, through risky gravity slingshots or considering how much fuel you need to buy that extra ton of cheese.

Playful learning

Gravity Break is primarily an entertaining game, but the concept is driven by curiosity. The developer behind it is a huge space enthusiast with a deep love for astrophysics, rockets, and robust systems. Therefore, it is my ambition to explore:

• How the solar system opens up when rocket travel is no longer so cumbersome?
• How the economy can evolve if you tweak the competition parameters?
• How long I can avoid implementing a laser in the game?

Ongoing development

Gravity Break is in its very early stages, so much can change. Right now, it’s a short sequence of missions introducing the player to how to control their rocket in a closed demo. The plan is to develop an economic system next, but if you think I should rather add the laser or look into multiplayer, hop onto my Discord and tap me on the shoulder!
